 GNU Gettext offers a number of tools und standards for localisation. In particular, certain conventions for the creation of internationalised programs are described, which have become standard in the oen-source world (i.e. the conventions, not the programs). OmegaT
 OmegaT is at present the only general translation memory tool released under an open source licence. The program is targeted at professional translators, i.e. not limited to the open-source domain. It can handle OpenOffice.org files, (X)HTML, Java properties and to some degree XML.
